In 2006, Patrick’s girlfriend convinced him to join the ‘Rotterdamse Talent Night’, because of his inspiration by Richard Pryor and Billy Connoly. He had four minutes of material and the rest of the show was all improvisation. He nailed it. The audience in Rotterdam was very enthusiastic. The second time wasn’t as successful as the first attempt, but in the end, Patrick had finally found his passion in stand-up comedy. After having performed on different stages and in different shows, he ended up on the open stage of Toomler where he learned much more about being a comedy performer. In 2009, Patrick auditioned for the Comedytrain and succeeded. He has already performed at Lowlands festival and for the programme of Theo Maassen. In 2013, Patrick Laureij won the audience and jury award of Cameretten.
